Kalonzo said the frustrations facing Kenyans today cannot be ignored or explained away by political slogans.
The former Vice President argued that rising living costs, heavy taxation and shrinking job opportunities have pushed many households to the edge.
According to him, the economic pressure felt in homes, markets and workplaces reflects a deeper loss of confidence in President Ruto’s leadership.
Kalonzo maintained that Kenyans were promised relief and prosperity, yet the reality has been higher prices and growing uncertainty.
He accused the government of being disconnected from ordinary citizens and focusing more on public relations than practical solutions.
Kalonzo said leaders must listen to wananchi instead of dismissing criticism as noise from the opposition.
He stressed that public anger should be treated as a warning sign, not an attack on authority.
The Wiper leader also called for respect for democratic voices, noting that protests, debates and criticism are legitimate expressions of public concern.
He urged the President to acknowledge that many Kenyans feel betrayed by unfulfilled pledges and harsh economic policies.
Kalonzo reaffirmed that the opposition would continue to speak out on behalf of citizens struggling to make ends meet.
He said leadership is not about power but responsibility, and responsibility begins with honesty.
As the country navigates difficult economic times, Kalonzo insisted that the government must accept the reality on the ground and change course, or risk further alienating the people it was elected to serve.
