Tension in Baringo After a Police is Shot Dead by Suspected Bandits, Senior Officer Reacts By Saying the Following

Police are investigating the death of a Kenya Police Reservist who was shot dead by suspected bandits believed to be from Tiaty, Baringo County, while another was left seriously injured in the Pura area in Samburu County.

Following the ambush by the suspected cattle rustlers, area residents rushed the injured one to Maralal hospital where he was admitted.

Speaking to KNA in Loosuk, Assistant County Commissioner Peter Mutiso said that security personnel have been dispatched to the area to pursue the bandits who fled from the crime scene, leaving the two police reservists.

According to the Assistant Commissioner, the suspects fled towards Malabo valley.

He noted that the deceased NPR was a very hard-working person and urged the area residents to remain calm as the security machinery works to bring his killers to book.

He further thanked the people of Pura who work closely with the security team over security matters.

Meanwhile, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has revealed that an investigation is ongoing to establish the cause of violence at a church in Othaya, Nyeri County.

According to reports, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was attending service before chaos erupted.
