The fresh claims have added to growing internal tensions, raising concerns about unity within one of Kenya’s major political parties.
Members of the G8 faction say they are unhappy with how key party decisions are being made.
They argue that Dr Oburu has been quick to discipline or sideline some members while appearing to protect or favor others facing similar issues.
According to the group, this selective approach has created anger and mistrust within the party ranks.
Speaking through statements and allies, the G8 faction claimed that ODM’s founding principles of fairness, democracy, and consultation are slowly being ignored.
They said the party risks losing direction if leaders do not apply the same rules to everyone, regardless of their position or influence.
The faction also accused the party leadership of failing to listen to dissenting voices. They argued that members who raise concerns are labeled rebels instead of being engaged through dialogue.
According to them, this has pushed many loyal supporters to feel excluded from important conversations about the party’s future.
Supporters of Dr Oburu Odinga, however, have defended his leadership, saying he is working to stabilize the party during a difficult transition period.
They argue that ODM is still recovering from major changes and that tough decisions are sometimes necessary to maintain order and discipline.
The latest disagreement comes at a time when ODM is facing pressure to reorganize and redefine its leadership structures.
Political analysts warn that continued infighting could weaken the party’s influence nationally if the issues are not resolved quickly.
Calls for dialogue have grown louder, with several senior members urging calm and internal talks.
They say open discussions could help clear misunderstandings and restore trust among different factions.
