Ndindi Nyoro Unveils Triple Laboratory Complex at Karema-ini Day Secondary School Funded by NG-CDF

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has announced the completion of a state-of-the-art triple laboratory complex at Karema-ini Day Secondary School, a significant milestone in enhancing educational infrastructure in his constituency.

The project, fully funded by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), aims to boost practical learning for students in science, home science, and computer studies.

In a recent post on X, Nyoro shared images of the newly equipped facilities, highlighting their readiness for the upcoming academic year. The complex features three specialized laboratories:

Science Laboratory: Equipped with long benches fitted with sinks, gas taps, and storage for experiments, this lab includes shelves stocked with essential apparatus such as microscopes, beakers, flasks, and chemical reagents.

The setup is designed to facilitate hands-on experiments in physics, chemistry, and biology, providing students with a safe and functional environment to apply theoretical knowledge.

Home Science Laboratory: This space includes modern appliances like gas stoves and ovens, still wrapped in protective covers, ready for culinary and textile practicals.

It promotes skills in nutrition, home management, and related subjects, preparing students for real-world applications.

Computer Laboratory: Outfitted with rows of desktop computers, monitors, keyboards, and mice arranged on wooden desks, this lab supports digital literacy and ICT education.

With multiple workstations, it allows for group learning and individual practice, addressing the growing need for tech-savvy graduates in Kenya's evolving job market.

Nyoro explained that these laboratories will enhance practical learning and are part of a broader initiative to upgrade educational facilities across Kiharu Constituency.

"Several laboratories, especially science labs, are ready in some junior and senior secondary schools in Kiharu," he stated, underscoring the ongoing commitment to education.

This development comes on the heels of a meeting held on January 8, 2026, where Nyoro convened with principals of all day secondary schools in Kiharu to plan for the academic year ahead.

During the session, led by Mr. Ngaruiya and Mr. Kinyua, discussions focused on infrastructure upgrades, including laboratories and other amenities.

Nyoro noted the successful collaboration that has enabled such projects, including the admission of students to two new secondary schools built from scratch and funded by Kiharu NG-CDF.

The NG-CDF has been instrumental in these efforts, with Nyoro's approach stating labor-based models to maximize community benefits and minimize costs.

Past benchmarking visits by other MPs to Kiharu have highlighted the efficiency of this model, which has been replicated to combat corruption and ensure transparent project execution.
