Mandera: Drama as Top Government Officer Shoots Himself Dead In His Official Residence

Police in Mandera County are investigating the death of a General Service Unit officer who was found dead at his official residence in Kutulo.

The officer identified as Constable Nicholas Omwega was discovered at the GSU Duce Camp.

Preliminary findings indicate that he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound while on duty at the camp.

Colleagues reported hearing a single gunshot from within the compound before rushing to the scene where they found his body lying in a pool of blood.

The service rifle issued to him was recovered near the body together with the remaining ammunition.
