Lower Savannah Ward MCA aspirant Patrick Khatala Wakhu on Thursday, January 29, 2026, joined Embakasi East Member of Parliament Hon. Babu Owino during a bursary forms distribution exercise aimed at supporting needy learners in the constituency.

The event, held at Jacaranda Grounds in Embakasi East, attracted hundreds of parents, students, youth leaders, and residents who turned up to collect bursary application forms meant to ease the burden of school fees for families facing economic challenges.

Speaking during the event, Wakhu praised Hon. Babu Owino for his continued commitment to education and social empowerment, noting that bursaries play a critical role in keeping children in school and giving hope to families struggling to meet education costs.
“Education is the foundation of any progressive society. When leaders prioritize learners, they are investing in the future of our communities,” Wakhu said.

The MCA aspirant used the platform to outline his vision for Lower Savannah Ward, promising people-centered leadership focused on youth empowerment, education support, and improved service delivery.

He urged residents to support his bid in the upcoming elections, emphasizing that grassroots leadership is key to driving meaningful change at the ward level.

“I am offering myself to serve the people of Lower Savannah with honesty, accessibility, and development-driven leadership. I ask for your support so that together we can build a ward that works for everyone,” Wakhu told the crowd.

Wakhu also openly declared his support for Hon. Babu Owino, who has expressed interest in vying for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

He described Owino as a leader with a proven track record of advocating for the rights of ordinary citizens and delivering tangible benefits to the electorate.

“Babu Owino has shown bold leadership and a strong commitment to the people. Nairobi needs such leadership at the county level,” Wakhu stated, rallying residents to back Owino’s anticipated gubernatorial bid.
