"Kaa Chonjo" Wambugu Ngunjiri Cautions Fred Matiang'i Over Alleged Rigathi Gachagua's Plot to Weaken Jubilee Party

Former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has sparked fresh debate within the opposition following the defection of former Othaya MP Gichuki Mugambi from Jubilee Party to Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP).

In a strongly worded Facebook post, Wambugu described Mugambi’s move as a serious warning sign for former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, who is widely viewed as Jubilee’s presidential hopeful ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to Wambugu, the crossover should not be treated as an isolated event. Instead, he argued that it reflects a deliberate political strategy being executed by Gachagua, whom he referred to as “Jofri.”
