Wamuchomba said the leadership at the Ministry of Education has failed learners, parents, and teachers, arguing that both the CS and PS should be dismissed. She pointed to gaps in the transition from Junior to Senior School, uneven school funding, and the rising costs of school uniforms as evidence of systemic mismanagement.
Speaking during the National Assembly’s 2026 Legislative Retreat in Naivasha, Wamuchomba expressed frustration over a decade of CBC implementation with little clarity or improvement. She highlighted that parents in many parts of the country are still struggling to navigate the curriculum while schools, particularly in rural areas, continue to face funding shortages and delayed government support.
According to Wamuchomba, the Ministry’s failure to enforce policies effectively has left learners at a disadvantage. She warned that without decisive action, the education system risks deepening inequality between well-resourced schools and those in low-income areas.
The MP urged Parliament to hold the Ministry accountable and ensure that reforms benefit all children equally. She criticized the ongoing disconnect between policy-making in Nairobi and the realities on the ground, noting that many directives remain unimplemented or poorly executed.
