Speaking on Saturday, December 13, at an event held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Mosiria said such collaboration could pave the way for Matiang’i’s inclusion in the government after the polls.

“I have seen that Uhuru has given our brother Matiang’i the number two position. If things continue this way, because of the friendship between Uhuru and the President, I can see Matiang’i being part of the government in 2027,” Mosiria remarked.
He added that working closely with the current administration would help ensure progress for Kisii County.

Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni confirmed that the National Executive Committee (NEC) had unanimously accepted Matiang’i’s application and approved his bid for the presidency.
“We have received and formally accepted Dr. Fred Matiang’i’s application for his presidential bid. The NEC has agreed that he carries our flag, and he will serve as Deputy Party Leader going forward,” Kioni said.
