Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has finally broken his silence on Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s recent visit to Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s home, a meeting that has stirred mixed reactions across the political divide.
Speaking during an interview on Thursday morning, Kalonzo confirmed that the visit indeed took place, saying it was a step towards unity and reconciliation among national leaders.
He noted that such gestures should not be viewed as political maneuvering but as a sign that Kenya is maturing democratically.
According to Kalonzo, Raila and Gachagua engaged in deep discussions about the state of the nation, peace, and development.
He added that the two leaders agreed that the interests of Kenyans must always come before politics.
“We may differ in ideology, but when the country needs healing, we must come together as brothers,” Kalonzo said.
He further dismissed claims that the meeting was part of a secret political alliance ahead of 2027, insisting that Raila remains focused on national unity and strengthening democracy. “This country needs dialogue, not division.
Raila has always championed for a united Kenya, and Gachagua’s visit shows that leaders can rise above politics,” he added.
Kalonzo also urged Kenyans to support leaders who prioritize peace and progress rather than fueling hatred and suspicion.
He praised Raila for welcoming Gachagua with open arms, describing it as a true example of statesmanship.
The visit has sparked conversations across the country, with many viewing it as a sign of a possible new political realignment.
However, Kalonzo maintained that the meeting’s main goal was to promote peace and cooperation among leaders for the benefit of all Kenyans.
