“Oparanya, Naomba Unipe Baraka Niende Nikuwe President Hata Kama Hunipendi” Sifuna's Plea to Ruto CS

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has made a bold appeal to Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives Wycliffe Oparanya, asking him to give his blessing should he decide to pursue the presidency in the 2027 General Election.

Speaking in a political exchange that is likely to fuel further debate within the opposition, Sifuna reportedly told Oparanya that he would appreciate his support even if the former Kakamega governor does not personally favour him.

“Oparanya, naomba unipee baraka niende nikuwe President hata kama hunipendi,” Sifuna said.

The remarks come at a time when political realignments are intensifying ahead of the 2027 elections, with several opposition figures positioning themselves for influential roles.

Sifuna, who has emerged as one of the prominent voices in Kenya’s opposition politics, has increasingly been associated with calls for a stronger political alternative ahead of the next election.
