Kiambu Believes Rest of Mt Kenya Is “Bush,” Lawyer Alleges After Muranga DCP Aspirant Was Heckled

Veteran political commentator Wahome Thuku has weighed in on the heckling of Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Kiambu gubernatorial candidate John Mwaura Kogi, who hails from Murang’a, sparking fresh debate over political rivalries within the Mt Kenya region.

In a strongly worded statement, Thuku accused some Kiambu leaders of historically viewing the rest of Mt Kenya as a “bush,” attributing the attitude partly to Kiambu’s proximity to Nairobi and the economic advantages that came with it.
