Homa Bay Town Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma has sparked fresh political debate after openly questioning the presidential ambitions of Edwin Sifuna.
Kaluma argued that Sifuna's political aspirations are being fueled by personal ambition rather than the leadership experience needed to challenge President William Ruto in a future presidential election.
Speaking on the matter Kaluma claimed that Sifuna has been receiving misleading advice from individuals he described as bloggers allied to former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to him these advisers have convinced the Nairobi Senator that he is capable of mounting a successful presidential campaign against the current Head of State.
Kaluma maintained that political ambition alone is not enough to secure the country's highest office.
He argued that anyone seeking the presidency must demonstrate proven leadership, experience and the ability to unite citizens across the country.
In his view Sifuna has not yet reached that level of political maturity.
