“Zoning is a selfish move, especially by party leaders who want to control political parties. We should allow democracy where candidates compete fairly,” Sabina Chege Criticises ODM Zoning Strategy as 2027 Political Tensions Rise

Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege has strongly criticised the zoning strategy being promoted by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), terming it undemocratic as political preparations for the 2027 General Election intensify.

Speaking during an interview on a local TV station on Wednesday, Chege argued that zoning is a selfish move driven by political leaders who want to maintain control over their parties.

She insisted that democracy should be upheld by allowing candidates to compete freely during party nominations.

“Zoning is a selfish move, especially by party leaders who want to control political parties. We should allow democracy where candidates compete fairly,” she said.

Her remarks come at a time when ODM is pushing zoning as a key strategy to protect its strongholds, particularly in regions where it enjoys massive support. TO READ MORE, CLICK HERE.
