Woman Breaks Down in Tears After Selling Her Late Mother's Land to Fund Lover's Visa, Only for Him to Take the Money and Disappear

What started as a love story filled with hope has ended in heartbreak for a young Kenyan woman who sacrificed everything, including her late mother’s piece of land, only to be abandoned by the man she trusted most.

The woman, identified as Lydia from Nakuru County, revealed that she met her lover online in 2023, and within months, the two became inseparable. 

According to Lydia, the man constantly promised her marriage and a better future abroad, convincing her that the only thing standing between them and success was money to process his visa and travel documents. In desperation and blinded by love, Lydia agreed to help him raise the required amount.

Lydia painfully narrated that she sold the only land left behind by her late mother, believing the sacrifice would secure their future together. 

Friends and relatives warned her against rushing into the decision, but she ignored them because she trusted the man completely. She explained that he constantly reassured her that once he settled abroad, he would send money back home, buy more land, and officially marry her.

However, immediately after receiving the money, things began to change. The calls became fewer, the messages colder, and excuses started piling up. 

Lydia said the man who once called her every hour suddenly disappeared for days without explanation. Weeks later, she discovered through social media that he had travelled abroad and was living with another woman.
