Uhuru Backs Sifuna as Kalonzo’s Running Mate for 2027 Elections – Abuga Makori

In a political development that is likely to reshape alliances ahead of the 2027 General Election, political analyst Abuga Makori has revealed that former President Uhuru Kenyatta has endorsed Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as the running mate to veteran politician Kalonzo Musyoka.

Speaking during a recent discussion on national politics, Makori said Uhuru’s endorsement signals a strategic move aimed at consolidating votes and strengthening opposition coalitions in the upcoming election.

“This is a calculated decision,” Makori noted, “given Sifuna’s influence within urban centers and among the youth, complementing Kalonzo’s stronghold in Eastern Kenya.”

Edwin Sifuna, who currently serves as the Nairobi Senator, has been a key figure in the opposition space, known for his legal expertise and outspoken stance on governance and public accountability.

His selection, if confirmed, could bring a fresh dynamic to the opposition ticket, appealing to younger voters and urban populations seeking transformative leadership.

Kalonzo Musyoka, who has been active in Kenya’s political landscape for decades, is widely regarded as a seasoned strategist with extensive experience in national leadership.

Aligning with Sifuna could expand his appeal beyond his traditional voter base, creating a broader coalition to challenge incumbents in 2027.
