President William Ruto has criticized Members of Parliament (MPs) who voted against the Finance Bill 2026.
He spoke on Monday during the launch of the Coffee Revival Programme in Kianyaga County.
The President said he is expected to sign the Bill into law on Tuesday and believes it will bring many benefits to Kenyans.
Ruto explained that the Bill includes funding for important sectors such as coffee farming and fertilizer support programmes. He said these funds are meant to help farmers improve production and increase their income.
According to the President, many coffee farmers and ordinary citizens will benefit from the resources provided in the Bill.
The President expressed surprise that some MPs opposed the Bill. He questioned whether those leaders truly understood the needs of the people they represent.
Ruto argued that the Bill contains money specifically set aside for coffee farmers and other development projects that support citizens.
