Fresh details have emerged regarding the mysterious death of a police officer whose body was discovered inside a parked vehicle in Mwala Sub-county, Machakos County, after a postmortem examination revealed that he died from poison ingestion.
The officer, a 37-year-old police constable, was found lifeless inside his white Toyota Probox along the Machakos–Kitui Road near the Kikelenzu Junction in Mumoni village on Tuesday, prompting an intensive investigation by security agencies.
According to Mwala Deputy County Commissioner David Tegutwa, a postmortem conducted on Wednesday established that poison was responsible for the officer's death. However, authorities are yet to determine whether the poison was self-administered or whether foul play was involved.
"The police officer died from poison ingestion. Investigations are ongoing to establish whether it was a case of poisoning or suicide," Tegutwa said. TO READ MORE, CLICK HERE.
