Gulf-Based Woman Claims She Lost Over KSh300K to GSU Officer in Alleged Romance Scam, Alleges He Had Multiple Victims

A Kenyan woman working in the Gulf has accused a General Service Unit (GSU) officer identified as Erick Munyalo of allegedly defrauding her of more than KSh300,000 in what she describes as a long-term relationship scam that lasted over two years. WATCH HER PAINFUL STORY HERE.

According to her account, the relationship began in 2023 and initially appeared genuine, with regular communication and emotional bonding.

However, she now claims that the situation gradually shifted into repeated financial requests that left her bearing most of the burden.

She alleges that she was frequently asked to send money for various personal needs, including food, daily upkeep, and other expenses that were presented as urgent.

In some instances, she says she was also told the funds were needed for work-related or construction projects.

The woman claims that each time she sent money, she was reassured that repayment would follow once the officer’s situation improved. Despite this, she says she never received any refund or financial return.

Over time, she says the financial demands became routine, and she continued sending money out of trust and emotional attachment, believing she was supporting a committed partner.

However, doubts allegedly began to emerge after she reviewed conversations on WhatsApp, where she claims she discovered inconsistencies in his communication.

She further alleges that she found evidence suggesting she was not the only woman in contact with him.

According to her, she later learned that there were more than ten other women allegedly engaged with the same officer under similar circumstances.

She claims that some of these women shared experiences that closely mirrored her own, including repeated financial requests and unfulfilled promises of repayment.

The woman also made further allegations that the officer was not single, as she had been led to believe throughout their relationship.

She claims she discovered that he is married with a child, a revelation she describes as emotionally distressing and deeply disappointing.

She now believes she was misled both emotionally and financially, and says she feels exploited after investing trust and money into what she thought was a genuine relationship.

The allegations have since sparked online debate, with social media users reacting strongly to claims of repeated financial exploitation under the guise of romantic relationships, particularly involving individuals in uniformed services.

At the time of publication, the accused officer had not issued any public response to the allegations, and the claims remain unverified.

The case adds to a growing number of similar reports highlighting the risks of online and long-distance relationships, where trust and financial vulnerability can sometimes be exploited.
