"God Wanted to Expose Him" Peter Mbae Alleges Why Ruto Had To Win 2022 Elections and Not Raila

Political commentator Peter Mbae offered a provocative take on Kenya's 2022 presidential election.

According to Mbae, William Ruto's victory was not merely a political outcome but a necessary event orchestrated to reveal the true character of his rival.

Mbae argued that had Ruto lost the election, supporters would have portrayed the defeat as a missed "Messiah moment." This narrative, he suggested, would have kept hopes alive for Ruto's eventual triumph in 2027.

Instead, winning the presidency allowed the public to see Ruto's governance style up close, exposing strengths and weaknesses that might otherwise have remained hidden.

"If Ruto didn't win the last election, it would have been framed as a missed 'Messiah moment' and we would wait to elect him in 2027. God wanted to expose him," Mbae stated during the broadcast hosted by Nduokoh and Dennis Aseto.

The comments come amid ongoing national conversations about leadership, accountability, and the high expectations placed on Kenyan leaders. Ruto defeated Raila Odinga in a tightly contested race that was later upheld by the Supreme Court.

Since taking office, Ruto's administration has faced scrutiny over economic policies, cost of living challenges, and governance approaches.
