Eyebrows Raised as Muhoho Kenyatta Spotted With Fred Matiang’i in Rare Political Appearance Ahead of 2027 Race

Concerns and speculation have emerged in political circles after Muhoho Kenyatta, the younger brother of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, was spotted alongside opposition figure Fred Matiang’i at a high-profile political gathering in Narok County. SEE CONTENTS OF THEIR DISCUSSION HERE.

The event, which brought together Maa community delegates, has attracted attention due to its timing and the growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Key political figures including Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, and other presidential hopefuls are already positioning themselves for what is expected to be a highly competitive race.

Muhoho, who is largely known for maintaining a low public political profile and focusing on business interests, was seen standing side by side with Dr. Fred Matiang’i, a former Interior Cabinet Secretary and one of the emerging opposition figures believed to be preparing for a presidential bid.

His presence at the gathering has sparked debate among political analysts and observers, with many questioning whether it signals a deeper involvement of the Kenyatta family in shaping the opposition’s strategy ahead of the next elections.

Some analysts argue that Muhoho’s appearance may not be accidental, suggesting that it could represent a subtle but strategic political signal at a time when alliances are being quietly formed across the country.

Political analyst Dr. Mike Walia noted that while Muhoho is not formally active in politics, his visibility in such a setting could indicate the continued influence of the Kenyatta family in national political affairs.

“Muhoho is not someone to speculate about, but his appearance at a party meeting makes him a key link within Jubilee. It could also be a message about 2027,” he said.

Dr. Walia further argued that the Kenyatta family may be seeking to maintain relevance in the evolving political landscape, especially as new alliances begin to take shape ahead of the elections.

“This is not accidental. It shows the Kenyatta family still intends to have influence in national politics. They are trying to ensure they do not fade from Kenya’s political map,” he added.

The Narok meeting, which was attended by leaders and delegates from the Maa community, is believed to be part of wider consultations by opposition-aligned leaders as they explore possible coalitions and power-sharing arrangements.

Fred Matiang’i, who has recently been associated with opposition realignment efforts, continues to feature prominently in discussions about potential presidential contenders. His engagements across different regions have fueled speculation about his political ambitions.

Meanwhile, Jubilee Party dynamics remain uncertain, with internal restructuring and shifting alliances continuing to define its future direction.

The appearance of figures linked to the party’s founding establishment has only intensified debate over its role in the 2027 political contest.
