I had always believed that Alice Njeri was my closest friend. We met in university in Nairobi, and from late-night study sessions to sharing our dreams for the future, we had grown inseparable. 

I confided in her about everything—my struggles, my ambitions, and even my deepest insecurities. I trusted her implicitly, believing that someone who knew my vulnerabilities would protect them, not weaponize them. Little did I know that my trust would become my greatest vulnerability.

The more I investigated, the clearer it became: she had betrayed me, exposing secrets I had shared in confidence and twisting them into lies that damaged my reputation.

I was devastated. My heart ached at the thought that the person I had trusted most had become my greatest source of betrayal.

I felt humiliated in front of colleagues, friends, and even my family. Social gatherings became unbearable, every interaction charged with suspicion and judgment.
