Bride Calls Off Wedding at the Last Minute After Discovering Groom Is a Polygamist: Family and Guests Left in Shock in Nairobi Suburb

A wedding that was supposed to be a joyous celebration turned into a dramatic scene last weekend after a young woman canceled her nuptials upon discovering a shocking truth about her fiancé.

Lucy Kamau, 27, had been engaged for six months and was eagerly preparing for her big day in a Nairobi suburb. 

Friends and family were looking forward to the ceremony, which was set to be a grand affair complete with traditional rites and a modern reception.

However, just days before the wedding, Lucy uncovered that her fiancé, a 32-year-old businessman, was already married and practicing polygamy—a fact he had allegedly kept hidden throughout their engagement.

“I was devastated. I couldn’t believe he hadn’t been honest with me,” Lucy told reporters. 

“Marriage is about trust and transparency. I cannot start my life with someone who has deliberately kept such a huge secret.”
