The ceremony took place in Kyuluni Village, Kathiani Constituency, Machakos County, drawing political and community figures to pay their respects.
Taking to social media, Kalonzo Musyoka described the occasion as a celebration of a life well lived.
He noted that Mzee Ng’ata had instilled values of service, faith, and commitment to the community, leaving a lasting legacy through his family.
“I am in Kyuluni Village, Kathiani Constituency, Machakos County, to celebrate the life of the late Mzee Jonathan Kiilu Ng’ata, a patriarch whose legacy lives on through his family and the values he instilled in them,” Kalonzo wrote.
The funeral was attended by a wide array of political leaders, reflecting the respect Mzee Ng’ata commanded.
Among those present were Reverend Dorcas Rigathi, Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, Senator Agnes Kavindu, Woman Representative Joyce Kamene, Kathiani MP Robert Mbui, Matungulu MP Stephen Mule, and Hon. Victor Munyaka.
During the service, leaders emphasized contributions of Mzee Ng’ata to both his family and the community.
They highlighted his commitment to nurturing a servant’s heart in his children, particularly in Bishop Dr. Joel Nzomo, who continues to serve the people of Machakos County through public office.
Attendees prayed for strength and comfort for the family while honoring the life, legacy of Mzee Ng’ata.
The gathering also offered an opportunity for political leaders to come together in solidarity and pay tribute to a respected elder whose values continue to influence the community.
