The PS also highlighted the steady progress and timely delivery of the development.
In his post, PS Raymond Omollo noted that the project is designed to provide modern, secure, and well-planned homes while creating employment opportunities and boosting the local economy.
The initiative, implemented by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development under Kenya’s Affordable Housing Programme (AHP), consists of four blocks—three rising to G+14 floors and one at G+16 floors.
Once complete, the project will offer a total of 975 housing units, including retail shops and studio apartments.
Kings Orchid integrates essential community facilities to enhance residents’ quality of life.
These include green spaces, a borehole, children’s play areas, a community hall, cabro-paved driveways, secure boundary walls, Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as retail and office spaces.
The development’s central location ensures convenient access to transport networks, healthcare facilities, public institutions, and sports amenities, positioning it as a vibrant residential hub for growing families.
PS Raymond Omollo also acknowledged the critical role played by the Ministry of Interior and National Administration in facilitating the project.
The ministry has ensured a conducive operating environment, coordinated government services, engaged local stakeholders, and maintained public order factors that have been instrumental in the smooth and uninterrupted implementation of the housing project.
With the project progressing as scheduled, Kings Orchid is set to provide much-needed affordable housing while supporting local economic growth and community development in Thika Town.
