Video Resurface Shows Mayienga Radio Executive’s Body Carried Out After Alleged Secret Rendezvous

Nairobi, December 10, 2025 – Disturbing video footage circulating online shows the tense moments when the body of Festus Amimo, 45, head of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation’s (KBC) Mayienga FM, was carried down a narrow stairwell in a Nairobi building.

The brief clip, lasting just under half a minute, depicts several men and women—including individuals in blue uniforms—struggling to navigate a red stretcher draped with a matching cloth through tight corners.

Amimo reportedly collapsed on December 6 while in a rented room at an unnamed location.

He was discovered unresponsive by his companion, Collata Ann Ngesa, 32, who alerted the premises’ staff immediately.

Police records, according to an Occurrence Book entry, suggest that Amimo suffered a cardiac arrest during a private encounter.

Following the incident, Amimo’s body was transported first to City Mortuary, then to Nairobi Funeral Home, where a postmortem was conducted on December 8.

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have opened an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Early reports indicate no signs of foul play, though toxicology results are still awaited.

Online rumors linking the death to erectile dysfunction medication remain unverified, with authorities neither confirming nor dismissing the claims.

KBC Managing Director Agnes Kalekye described Amimo as “a warm soul” whose sudden passing has shocked colleagues and listeners alike.

Radio Programme Manager Mary Daraja recalled that he “was in high spirits just days ago” and praised his decades-long dedication to Luo-language programming and news broadcasting.

The emergence of the footage has intensified public attention, with some posts receiving tens of thousands of views.

Ngesa has refrained from public comment, and authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation.

Amimo is survived by his wife and two children, with funeral arrangements set for later this week.
