The suspect appeared before the Milimani Law Courts on Monday, December 8, where prosecutors accused him of promising several families job placements in the National Police Service (NPS) in exchange for money.
According to investigators, seven parents paid him large sums after he assured them that their children would be recruited as police officers.
The suspect denied all charges and was released on a Ksh1 million bond as the case continues. The court scheduled the next hearing for December 16.
This incident comes shortly after another similar arrest. Two weeks ago, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested a different man who had allegedly collected Ksh2.5 million from job seekers using the same trick.
DCI officers reported that the second suspect used forged recruitment letters to convince victims that he had access to police slots.

In a statement, the DCI warned the public to be alert, stressing that genuine police recruitment is free, fair, and transparent.
“When detectives stormed the premises, they recovered twenty more fake police recruitment letters, exposing what looks like a well-oiled fraud operation,” the DCI said.
