Opposition Fires Back at President Ruto, Vows To Teach Him a Lesson In 2027

Kenya’s opposition leaders have promised to give President William Ruto a tough political battle in the 2027 general elections.

The leaders said they will teach him a lesson for disrespecting the opposition and ignoring the challenges facing Kenyans.

Speaking during a rally in Malava, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa and DCP deputy party leader Cleophas Malala said President Ruto has failed to deliver on his promises.

They accused him of repeating old projects in the western region to gain political favor instead of starting new developments.

Wamalwa said the Mulembe community is now more united and will not be divided by false promises.

“We have seen what is happening. The people of Mulembe are awake and will not be fooled again,” he said.

Wamalwa added that the President’s remarks about the opposition’s weakness show arrogance and disrespect to the millions of Kenyans who want change.

Malala also criticized the President for re-launching road projects that were already opened before.

“He came to launch the same road again and claimed it was new,” said Malala.

He told residents that such actions prove the government is only interested in politics, not development.

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale supported the opposition leaders, saying he was present when the same road was launched earlier.

He accused the President of trying to mislead the public with repeated events.

The opposition leaders urged the people of Malava to support DAP-K candidate Seth Panyako in the upcoming by-election.

They said Panyako represents the unity of the opposition after DCP candidate Edgar Busiega withdrew to back him.

Wamalwa and Malala said the results of the by-election will send a strong message to the Kenya Kwanza government. They promised to continue working together as one team ahead of 2027.

“The by-election will be our first step to show the President that Kenyans are tired of empty promises,” Wamalwa said.

The leaders expressed confidence that the united opposition will win the 2027 election and form a government that truly serves all Kenyans.

They called on citizens to remain hopeful and ready to vote for change when the time comes.
